How to set up email report distribution in Cognos?
IBM Cognos 8 allows to schedule the distribution of the reports so that users receive the reports on a given time basis.
Recipients must have read permissions for the report and traverse permissions for the folder where the report is located.
When the report is attached to an email, it is no longer secured by the IBM Cognos security system.
The email recipients are selected from a list which contains users, groups, roles and defined distribution lists.
If an administrator wants to email a report to a recipient which is not part of the Cognos security system, a new Contact needs to be created in Cognos Administration.
